Syttende Mai!

Today is Norwegian Constitution day, and the Owen family celebrated in true half-breed style, by heading over the mountains for the parade in Ballard.  There we joined up with the Kongsberger Ski Club, who were rollerskiing as a group in the parade.  I love rollerskiing, but doing it in full traditional dress costume is a little tricky, not to mention nerve wracking.  But we sure looked cute!

It was HOT. And wearing a wool dress doesn't help.

It was HOT. And the dresses are wool. BAD IDEA.

In Ballard? You mean I could have driven 2 minutes and seen you guys in person? Argh, missed opportunity!

Eric, I had no idea you lived in Ballard now! Although, you probably should have come and seen the parade, even if you didn’t know we’d be there. It really is that cool.

Well, not quite living in Ballard, but just up the street a bit. I occassionally hear of Scandinavian related things and other events down that way, but usually after the fact. :(

Even after being here a few years, I still can’t keep track of all the crazy events that happen in the Seattle area. My being a bit of an anti-social intracity hermit probably doesn’t help. :p

    ok….now i’m suspicious. There’s no way Chuck thinks we’re THAT hot…
