Da Great Bear Chase

I wasn’t too happy with with my Birkie result, so I headed up to Calumet this weekend to try another 50K.  The Bear Chase is fairly small as far as marathons go, with only about 200 people entered, but it makes up for size in spirit.  There really is a guy dressed as a bear to chase, and there’s pasties and all the donuts you can eat at the end!  Plus, it’s in the UP of Michigan, which I love, and I raced well, which always gives you a great impression of an event.

Saturday was the Junior Bear chase, and I was super excited to run into a large crew from Hayward!

    I didn’t know that there was a bear to chase. That sounds cool.
